LEARNING NETWORK

The Health and Human Rights programme in the School of Public Health and Family Medicine at UCT, in conjunction with its partners in a Learning Network for Health and Human Rights invites you to participate in a Seminar to explore the contribution of African theories and philosophies to better understanding the right to health – particularly the potential tension between concepts of individual and collective human rights.

Noon Meetings

The noon meetings are open academic and intellectual forums attended by staff and registrars within the School of Public Health and Family Medicine. Staff, post-graduate students and visitors are invited to present their own research findings, ideas or proposals. The noon meetings also fulfill a role in the registrar training program including journal clubs for the school. The meetings are scheduled on Thursdays between 12h00 and 13h00, with a 45 minute presentation and 15 minutes discussion.

Epidemiology Seminars

Epidemiological seminars are held monthly on Mondays, 16h00-17h00. The range of topics include conceptual, analytical or study related subjects across the disciplines of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. All welcome.

Dissertation Seminars

Dissertation seminar are held monthly on Mondays, 16h00 - 17h00, on alternate fortnights with the Epidemiology Seminars. Doctoral and Masters students in Public Health present dissertation proposals, analyses or final versions. All welcome.
